But this week what pisses me off is grain companies pushing a naritive that the canola crop looks best ever.

This same bullshit happened last fall and Canola went to 11 a bushel they know farmers have to sell and made out like banditsnow the cupboards are bare and a few who waited get over 16.

Now the new best crop ever bullshit starts.

    They aren't your friends.
Exactly, I got that vibe yesterday at a retail they are already thinking great crop lol
we’ll go for a drive , over half the canola is patchy and strippy still , at this time of year that’s not good

Took a 300 km drive yesterday, 3/4 of the canola was pretty patchy
looking and probably 10% are either nice looking or a disaster. Lots are on borrowed time depending on what moisture July gives us.

Yea I agree with what you seen. They think they can bullshit the markets since They are experts at manipulation.

China didn't kill.as much profit as the grain companies did with canola last year.

Drove from 1 and 16 Portage la Praire to Edmonton canola is patchy good fields ,poor fields and most fields need a lot more rain for a average crop at best. Those new trucks the crop imput salesmen drive are also on the payment plan . To keep the fuel card and 60 grand wage they must sell sell sell. We finished first cut hay before July 1st. That happens only on dry years with little rain for us.

Can honestly say we are on the road to f@#$ed around here. Wheat is thin and can’t say for sure how it will fill. If it fills ok it’s still crop insurance. The canola in the whole area looks good hardly any patchy stuff but needs rain to branch and set more than a few pods per plant. Almost too thick to sustain the growth. Rain is the only thing I can’t give it and all the spraying in the world won’t make pods. This wind and 30 degree temps can f@#$ off anytime. Soybeans look good but like everything else needs a 2 day soaker. Any place that has received the higher predicted rain events has potential but those areas are gonna need to keep getting it or it will go backwards fast. Our area is short 40 plus inches over the past 6 years which has kick the shit out of the subsoil so when it gets cooking with this damn wind the plants don’t stand a chance. Dad has reminded me the last few years it’s just like the 80s all over again. Without the high interest rates!

Just figured out my why my custom spreader guy only billed me for 90 acre's on a 108 field. I have a 18 acre pale green patch in the middle. He told me its a farmer acre thing.

In 1988 we had an actual farmer as a premier, he could recognize the problems on his way back and forth from Regina to his farm. A few side trips and he knew this was a major disaster.

Today we have a dipshit for a premier, and is lucky if he could use crayons.

Devine was yelling at Mulroney by this time in 1988.

Today they send out people from Crop insurance to look for excuses as to why the crops look so poor. When told it hasn't rained they can not grasp the concept.

                      Canadian Press

"Everything is dying': Prairie farmers, crops struggling with yearly droughts"

Your R.M. (Big Stick) is mentioned and interviews are done with producers and ranches in the area.

The word got out, posting pictures of struggles way more effective.

                      Hope this helps everybody involved.
