Carney to spend 5% GDP on Defense which in his words = 150 B \ 20 M taxpayers= $7500 per. Or about $5000 more per person than today. How many of the 20M even pay $5000 now? How can critical minerals pay for this increase without more oil for energy to mine, process, and ship them? Sounds like more “ balance itself”.

Putin commits genocide on the Ukrainian people so the Western World tries to enforce price cap and sanctions on Putin's O&G to disrupte Russia's war machine financially and try to limit Putin's exports, and you decide to post Eastern Canada is not getting all of it's O&G from SK and Ab.

Perhaps if previous administrations had have enacted these policies and brought manufacturing, mining, processing etc back long before starting the war against Russia, Ukraine would not be losing due to lack of equipment of all types, since the West can't keep up to the production capacity of Russia and it's allies.

If this disastrous NATO war against Russia has not opened your eyes to why these policies are necessary, I'm not sure I can help you understand.
