Saskatchewan plastics shouldn't end up in the ocean....So why is this my problem?

They are bringing back waste from the Philippines to be burnt in an energy producing facility ...why can't other things be burnt there as well?????

Chuck - wake up! Trudeau gave Nova Chemicals, a plastic manufacturer $35 million in January. Santa Claus does not pick favourites - plastic manufacturers need a hand out too. 👎

Yep it all comes down to you like Trumps politics and don't like Trudeaus.

Its the same old "Trudeau has caused all our problems", we don't like Trudeau blah, blah ,blah. Endless partisan whining with very little in the way of discussion of the issues.

Some of you do put some effort in to discussing the issues and should be congratulated, but many of the angry mob on Agriville resort to Trudeau bashing at every feeble chance. Pathetic is the best way to describe it.
So I am curious Chuck2, do you support Justin Trudeau? Please explain what policies he has enacted as Prime Minister that have benefited western Canada and for that matter Canada as a whole!

What’s needed is better recycle system. How are straws that people use in a restaurant ending up in the ocean? Or shopping bags what ever?
Are some of the companies that are getting paid to do this dumping stuff or what? Years ago used to see lots of garbage along road etc I don’t see it any more at least not our area so how is this massive amount of plastic getting there?

yesterday after Trudeau banned plastics, he gave $35M to Novachem, who make plastics.

Today Trudeau took away an ice breaker contract from BC and gave it to Quebec. I WANT MY VOTE!!!

Where is the one use plastic going that is the question. Most of it is going into landfills in Western Canada. A small amount is being recycled. Burning it in an uncontrolled burn is the worst option for air quality.

Nobody is saying we should stop using plastic for all products. The goal is to reduce one use plastic that is polluting the oceans, rivers, landfills and environment with products that are cleaner, safer, or reusable or better yet don't need packaging at all.

This can be done it is just a matter of consumers and governments willingness to do it. Of course the naysayers and industry will come up with a hundred reasons why we shouldn't do it.

Pretty easy to give up water bottles, an expensive and stupid scourge. Bottled water - $2.00 for 500 ml at a convenience store or restaurant !!! And some consumers complain about the cost of recycling?.

                We can do better.
Just don't forget the large % of people on Earth who don't have refrigeration.
