Generally I think farmers are the ultimate recyclers - the example someone made of using old oil pails to feed cattle is a good one - they often last for years and then sell them on at their farmsale to another farmer! As we are near a lake we get lots of waste from acreage and the cottages by the lake. There is a rash of good usable furniture appears at the dump every spring - the attendant was telling me that some people in the city/town replace their couches every year - take the old one to the cottage and take the 2 year old one to the landfill. This is the kind of waste that is endemic in our society unfortunately. The waste of consumer goods, food and fuel is staggering.

Who is in favour of creating more garbage? No one.

Why does every Agriville post turn into a I hate Trudeau festival with hardly any discussion about the issue from many posters?

Some of you need to get beyond your over the top partisan views and actually discuss the issue.

We are all guilty of over consumption and generating too much waste. Yes there will be a cost to reducing and recycling. But lets face it it will be a non issue for many items. We don't need over packaging. What we need is a plan to reduce, reuse and recycle packaging as much as possible. The world will not end because we make better packaging choices.

Is it really a hardship to buy your oil in returnable jugs, totes, drums? Not really. Put a pump and hose on them and they are very convenient.

Many people are just extremely lazy or can't plan ahead. Seems like we have lost the skill to make a coffee and a breakfast.

Is it such a hardship to use reusable shopping bags, reusable drink cups, wash some dishes, buy in bulk whenever possible? How many takeaway meals are purchased from restaurants with all the attached garbage? People don't cook at home any more apparently.

Industry need to step up and the only way to do it is to force them into better alternatives. Consumers need to pay attention to their choices or soon the world will be one big garbage dump full of useless crap.

the Yangtze; Indus; Yellow; Hai He; Ganges; Pearl; Amur; Mekong; and two in Africa – the Nile and the Niger.
Here's an idea, how about all of those people who live in the vicinity of those rivers learn how to recycle? Once again here we are trying to save the world while most of the rest of the world doesn't really give a damn? I know we need to set a good example , but maybe some of these countries need to get educated. Birth control would be a good thing to teach some of these countries also.

Forage, chuck. Watch the clip already. If you see no problem with that unbelievably dumb person who is supposed to be running a g7 country, answering how he and his family have reduced plastic, get back to me. THAT is the issue.

THAT is why it became a Trudeau bashing issue. Unbelievable.

Just watched clip. Made me feel a little sympathy actually. What if he's a tad handicapped???
Changing our plastic habits one thing. We're pissed because his tribe have applied this pitch to some serious issues.
Funny seeing clips from Kiselyovsk Siberia. The serious pollution from their coal mining. Nobody there gives a fk except the locals who are covered in soot and dust. We here, will go carbon free in 30 years to solve all this.
Well fk me, and as long as we're all
Safe, inclusive, respectful, gender sensitive, and every other catchphrase I missed. *** Cornhole.

When you look at Trudeau you are looking at the disconnected elite, inherited wealth, no urgency for anything, never had to make payroll or worry about next paycheck. Now add in some mental dysfunction, a weak mind that is easily played by special interest groups, some dope and booze to keep it all together and there you go. Your PM, head of a G7 nation. Former G7.

It will be a low water mark in Canadian politics and history!

It's almost hard to believe, right burnt?

I sincerely hope you are right, and this is the low point, and it can't get any worse. But I'm afraid that after seeing the success they had by trotting out this imbecilic useful idiot, the radical left will likely try for a repeat performance again next time around, and find another puppet with good hair, name recognition, and not enough mental capabilities to realize he/she is being used to enrich a few Eastern Canadian elites, while fulfilling the anti-Canadian/anti-industry agenda of the radical left.

It took us 30+ yrs to crawl out of the destruction from the first Trudeau. Can we really crawl out again? Dont see it. We have too many snowflake socialists who riot as soon as they are cut off. People are too extended, not resilient, disconnected. Its one thing to create division among people but Trudeau did something else on top of that. He kneecapped our economic engines and drove 500b of investment wealth out of the country.

I predict Sheer will be like Ford. get in, try to right the ship, then face a progressive backlash that leads to another Liberal (or worse govt) 4 yrs from now. I think a crack up of the country is more likely.

That's all very well if it's true - but if Canada is shipping recyclables to these countries to get recycled using child labor and benefitting from minimal environmental standards we've got to bear responsibility for that.

Hopefully everyone will remind their local candidates how hypocritical it would be to use plastic election signs this fall. Time to set an example

Again very little discussion about the issue and a lot of hot air about Trudeau. How the hell can you complain about Trudeau's incompetence and then go on to praise Trump in many other threads? LMAO!

Yep it all comes down to you like Trumps politics and don't like Trudeaus.

Its the same old "Trudeau has caused all our problems", we don't like Trudeau blah, blah ,blah. Endless partisan whining with very little in the way of discussion of the issues.

Some of you do put some effort in to discussing the issues and should be congratulated, but many of the angry mob on Agriville resort to Trudeau bashing at every feeble chance. Pathetic is the best way to describe it.
