But Furrow no answer on why Norway is so successful and Alberta spends and gives away so much of their potential revenue?

Norway one of the richest and best countries in the world to live created Stat Oil so that Norwegians would control the oil industry. They have 2.2 Trillion USD in savings from the oil industry. They decided the oil belongs to Nowrwegians and most of the benefits should go to all the citizens.

Saskatchewan and Alberta on the other hand give the oil resource mostly to oil industry to privatize the profits and socialize the cleanup and have little to show for one time resource revenue.

Blakeney and the NDP created Sask Oil and Grant Devine sold it off to his oil buddy friends.

Which system of ownership and development works better? Norways by far! Lesson - don't let Conservatives negotiate with the oil companies because they give up control every time and give away the resource.

And Saskatchewan still has Sask Power and Sask Tel crown corporations controlled by the government.

The Norwegian oil play is a bit different than western Canada for obvious reasons. However, their sovereign wealth fund was modelled off of Alberta’s heritage fund. Though they chose not to dip in the cookie jar and invest wisely. Downside taxes stay high but cradle to grave and free education. As well, when Norway found oil and decided to nationalize they teamed up with foreign companies to develop and produce said reserves but ultimately kept the profits. The Saskatchewan nationalization of oil and minerals went about as well as could be expected from inept ndp hacks running the show. Point is Norwegians were capable managers and probably a lot more conservatively minded managing their business. A good lesson for ndp nuts and conservative nuts in western Canada.

Glad to see you agree that Norway's oil development was success producing the world's largest sovereign wealth fund.

Norwegians are the real deal when it comes to fiscal conseravtives!

The difference in Alberta and Saskatchewan was all about politics and execution.

The oil industry stymied the potential of developing state owned oil companies that would partner with oil companies.

Norway figured out how to do it and had a different vision of ownership and responsibility.

In Alberta and Saskatchewan its private profits over public ownership. And then socialize the cleanup and external costs.

Its the free market Alberta oil company way.

Prime Minister Carney would know. Brookfield manages/ owns 48.7GW of renewable power production worldwide. Including about 30 Hydro dams in Canada.
Carney wants Canada to become a clean Energy Superpower and double our production.
But Brookfield wants 30 yr permits to export their Canadian clean energy to the USA to contract to data centers?
The Alberta grid Chuck loves to criticize uses about 10 to 12 GW for reference.
