Norway has done a good job, we have not.
But it's not a simple comparison.
Well head to refinery different.
Size of political jurisdiction as beneficiary.
A miniscule mountain country with one identity.
A lot more political spillage and far more production cost.
Far less people living off the fat.
I'd say the whole of Canada is squandering it's oil income.
More than AB produce. All spend.

Alberta has chosen not to save their one time resource revenue. Instead they have given lower taxes and spend it on core spending instead of saving it for when the oil revenues decline and investing in diversification.

Saskatchewan has the same mentality.

Low royalties, low taxes. Treat the non renewable resources as owned by the resource sector instead of owned by the citizens and province.

Neither province is requiring the industry to clean up the mess of orphan wells.

Norway has 10 yrs of reserves.
Alberta has 100 yrs +++
Think about that before you give us your Norway pitch for the 50th time.

Harper said we would stop burning fossil fuels by the year 2100.

The tar sands are some of the dirtiest, most energy intensive oil on earth to extract.
