I dont think that anyone argues about the issues with the residential school system.. it was a horrid way to attempt to get the " native" out of the child.

Nobody is denying that residential schools existed, or claiming that they were amazing and great for the Indians, but I guarantee they are the reason that some decided to become productive members of society as opposed to the lazy pricks that sit around drunk on reserves all day. And, dare I say it, if the "white man" had come and done to the Indians what each band did to each other, there would be none left to talk about it today. They were given land and opportunity to make something out of themselves and are abusing the gifts they were given in treaties to this day and will continue to abuse them until they are cut off. If BC wants to allow the Indians to take white people's property that was bought and paid for with hard work, blood sweat and tears, even that pinko lefty province will have a revolt!
