    Social Media ban

Not exactly sure how it’s enforced but it’s starts today.

Australia has enacted a world-first ban on social media for users aged under 16, causing millions of children and teenagers to lose access to their accounts.

Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, YouTube, Snapchat, Reddit, Kick, Twitch and TikTok are expected to have taken steps from Wednesday to remove accounts held by users under 16 years of age in Australia, and prevent those teens from registering new accounts.

Platforms that do not comply risk fines of up to $49.5m.

Sort of sitting on the fence with this one but lean to favour the ban if 14 yr and under would agree

I do detest the word ban. And, as with all prohibitions it will likely have limited success.
But anything else that plays on the dopamine centers of the brain is controlled access for minors.
      Gambling, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis.
And social media platforms definitely fit the bill.

There are gamer kids that never leave the screen.
        Their whole world.
They will have no childhood memories.

Manitoba has a ban on cell phones in classrooms from K-12.

Parents have the tough task of monitoring what social media platforms their children have access to.

Peer pressure is extraordinary, keep them engaged in sports and other activities to ensure they grow up with social skills and learn how to work with others

          It's a very different world.

This isn't just a children issue.

There are many supposed adults including the troll of agriville, who grew up long before social media, who completely lack the social skills and ability to work with others when they can hide behind a keyboard.

Whose responsibility should it be to police their online behavior? The state? Parents and family? The social media companies? The social media community? Their supposed social media allies?

Or does personal responsibility have any role to play?

You've stated on Agriville several times you're strictly here for the entertainment.

Now you want to work with others on what, political correctness, social issues, all agreeing with what you post?

You've supposedly got Chuck blocked, but start a thread on life without him on Agriville or you piggyback on other poster's posts to remain in the conversation involving Chuck.

Do you really know what you want to get out of Agriville?

Doesn't really sound like you do to me.

I didn't mention anyone by name. Yet somehow by that description you admit that there's only one child on here who fits that description.

You want it to be all adult like on Agriville, and then you come on here playing little kid games, and doing what you always do best, spinning it in another direction without answering the question.

                    So I'll ask again,

Do you really know what you want to get out of Agriville?
