I read and occasionally post on the adult page looking for relevant marketing or agronomic information.

When I get bored and I need entertainment, I come to Chuck's asylum to laugh at his self importance and make fun of anyone else who comes to his defense.

Need to change the strategy up occasionally to keep it interesting. The latest strategy is keeping him on ignore while still ridiculing his ineptness.

What do you come here for?

Why do adults need their behaviour policed? As long as they’re operating within the general laws, it’s not illegal to be socially awkward or an asshole.

Adults should be able to recognize imbeciles and not take their shit seriously. They should be able to emotionally regulate themselves and make mature decisions. If they can’t, then it’s within their power to search out help and teaching so that they learn how to do so.

Preteens and teenagers are not capable of this level of thought yet. It doesn’t matter how mature they are, and in fact the more mature they are, the more likely they are to have issues pop up later. It should not be expected that a teenager who runs into a poorly regulated adult can differentiate between them and reality. A teenager can take it too personally or too seriously or be too easily swayed. Repercussions can be massive.

We have no ability, and nor should we, to police an adults social capabilities. What we can do is try and ensure that our young adults grow up learning skills that help them identify such individuals and personal lackings and knows how to deal or avoid those people.

I agree that part of doing what is keeping preteens and teens away from areas where these kinds of people frequent in loud numbers.

Much like you don’t let them go hang out in the bar and be exposed to those types of people at young ages.

Thinking of no one in particular, I'm sure.

I’ve run into a lot of socially awkward people and just general assholes.

In a shocking twist that this forum will love, most of them are men.

Definitely too many to be thinking of a particular one.

While I was logged out just now, I see our troll has a full page of posts and new threads, some with zero responses all to himself.

And I also peeked behind the curtain to see that at least he has identified the root of the problem:

Social media is starting to look more and more like supermarket tabloids from days gone by.

Reading too much on here is a conscious choice about how big you want your headache to be. How do you want to start your day?
Someone committed at least an hour to posting this morning.
Beyond the aggression, I saw few facts and a completely closed position.

It has a redeeming feature. It promotes fact checking when posters like crop post spurious information
