As I have probably said before, I ate a lot of grassfed beef in Argentina and was disappointed to find it was more consistently good than what we get here when buying beef.
The trick is, they can never have a bad day. Have to be on plentiful grass that provides good gains every day of their lives.

The term grassfed does not make it good or bad.
Mostly bad here because it's often promoted by people selling poor quality meat.
Same could be said for grainfed.
Some is a choking hazard if poorly done.

Happens every time the packers loose control in the market.
They go to the government and say they can't get enough supplies to fill the demand.
Consumers complain about high prices and packers get more quota to imprort.
Boatloads of containers come from their plants around the world and the price comes down but they still have higher quota.
The North American herd ends up smaller.

Buy local , know the farm where its produced , or better yet have your own , pig going in our freezer later this week , raised a few miles away other meats available local also , dont care if the meat in the big stores thats pumped with crap comes from Australia or timbucktoo

you guys dont get much greek food over there?? no smart comments if I want greek I will go to Greece etc but lamb mutton huge in greek cuisine and Indian as well. Mostly here lamb mutton 2 times a week beef once or twice seafood once chicken once and spaghetti or something the other night usually beef mince. You guys might be beef 24/7. Variety of all of the above could be curries beef curry lamb curry etc

Edit going into town to do a shop etc and missus has doc appointment will get price of rib roast to compare

Some supermarket beef the half body I bought $14 per kg with dog bones as well big save better meat. Rang butcher today its well hung he said yes but if ya want it hang a extra week ya can so we got extra 6 days

Packer concentration and market manipulation has long been an issue in Canada and the US.

Or are you willing to give up CFIA health and safety regulations as well? We can see what happened in Alberta with un regulated meat processing. The province shut them down.

And Trump wants to bring in cheaper Argentinian beef to bring down prices because he thinks farmers are overcharging for their beef! LOL

Don't be suckered in to thinking Trump really cares about beef farmers and is going to challenge the packers near monopoly.
