It's all about the money. There is a huge outfit taking prime grain land out of grain to grow silage, putting it up wet in beautiful weather then drying it with Natural Gas and shipping it overseas. All the while guys in Canada say they can't find or afford feed for their cows. Taste will depend if it came out of a feedlot or straight off a station.
Grassfed will taste like mutton, feedlot will taste like ours.
There's been Australian beef in the store forever. I remember it having orange star stickers saying where it was from when I lived in Banff. Hardly like it's a large amount that's undercutting the market. Certainly isn't contributing to lower store prices.
