Enbridge has 2 solar projects coming into production in Texas.
Approx 6200 acres total area.

Enbridge has over 11,000 acres of solar in production with power contracted at premium price to greenwash for big companies like Amazon, AT&T, and Toyota.?????

If you have an inclination to spend $70k on solar panels just buy Enbridge stock letting them collect all your subsidies and do all the maintenence and keep the snow blown off.
The pay 6% dividend so $4K to put toward your power bill .
They gained 50% in value in the last 5 yrs and your solar panels depreciated considerably in that time.

Our solar panels have been a great investment and will easily pay for themselves in about 10 years.

At the utility scale they are some of the lowest costs sources of new generation in many parts of the world.

In the last census around 15,000 farms across Canada reported having their own solar electricity generation.

"In Canada, 14,587 farms reported using solar energy in 2021, which represents 7.7% of all farms. This is a significant increase from the 8,658 farms reporting solar energy production in the previous census. Solar energy is the most common form of renewable energy production on Canadian farms."

Nothing against solar , if it’s in the areas the require the massive power load , not out in the middle of the countryside
there are massive areas with cities to do solar , buildings , rooftops , along roadways , the list is endless . Sorry I think she makes a good point . Put all the solar up you want in your own yard if you please , then pat yourself on the back . But keep it off productive land is the point she’s making. I guess that got lost quickly with the mob here

I've got solar panels I use for fencers.
I bet at least 2/3 of that 14000 are ranchers and hobby farmers with cattle.

And I agree there are lots of places to put solar panels that don't involve good farmland.

But if you are like Absurd 5, you will spend all your time telling us they are not a viable and affordable source of electricity which is contradicted over and over again in the real world including in A5's Alberta.

Only fossilized thinkers like A5, think fossil fuels are the only viable source of energy.
