    Canada Post Strike...Again?

Looks like Canada Post workers are set to strike again starting Friday, May 23, unless some last-minute deal is reached...

Curious what everyone’s thinking — how are you prepping if mail service gets shut down? Are you lining up couriers, stocking up on parts, shifting to online billing, or just crossing your fingers it’s short?

Also wondering what folks make of the strike itself. Do you think the postal workers have a case, or is the timing brutal for the rest of us trying to keep operations running?

Phuck them, fire half! No mail delivery in cities! All business DD, D debit, online.

    A dinosaur service. Wake up!

      The PO is nearly redundant.
      Another govt mismanagement.
      Another union strangling itself.

I knew a postie who delivered mail in Saskatoon.
He went in in the morning, picked up the mail for the route, delivered it on the same route every day, and was done between 12:30 and 2pm.
Then mostly did a Cliff Clavin from Cheers lifestyle.
That's what they are fighting for.
They want to keep all the inefficiencies they have become accustomed to.

If I recall, his wages 50% more than any other hourly person I knew at the time and he worked 41/2 to 6 hrs for 8 hrs pay.
          Before courier and email.

The job itself was for a zombi.
Same as a kids paper route.

          Didn't want to trade him.

A friend's daughter did delivery in a big city. Took 10 to 12 hrs to do her run at the start. Eventually got it down to 7.5
