Letter mail has been in steep decline for years.

They need to end door delivery in the cities.

The US Postal service doesn't make money either. They had close to a $10 billion dollar deficit in 2024.

They can focus on parcel delivery and other services.

Treat it like any other essential public service.

Roads, sewers and water systems don't turn a profit either.

But you would never privatize them or get rid of them would you?

Not the same. In ground infrastructure can't be replaced by Habibs nephew working for room and board, mail sorted by AI.

Perhaps they could start a side biz to boost income like making buggy wheels or 8 -track tapes Got to give union credit there calling the bluff . Have driven 12miles for 45 years to pick up mail can't imagine door to door service. Pay all my bills online since December faster than licking stamps and you know who got paid and when money left account.

My cousin has worked for the post office for her entire career.
The amount of time off she has received over the years is shocking and unsustainable.
I'm not paying for that anymore.

Not just the post office. The same can be said for every unionized civil servant, bureaucrat and politicians.

If these were private sector businesses, we could do like you say and not pay for it anymore by taking our business elsewhere. We don't get that option with crown corporations and public sector unions.

I think public sector unions and collective bargaining are a great idea, but the people voting should be the taxpayers who are paying for it, not the beneficiaries holding the taxpayers for ransom.

              Good luck with that.
              21% of workforce civic.
              30% overall unionized.
76% of civic, 16% of private unionized.

For sure. They will have to bankrupt the system which will cause societal collapse before they will give up an ounce of the power they have

Not really a part of the inevitable cycle anyone would want to see.
Thankfully it takes a long time.

PP is on the side of the Unions and unionized workers now!

How can you guys support such a pro union Conservative leader and be so anti union at the same time? LOL
