What grinds my gears is this is what "farmers" need to compete with.

A local farm has been described as a Ponzi scheme.
Investors supplying capital, buy and sell land at ever increasing values showing asset appreciation and an ROI from rental income. The economics of the land's value and its productive capacity and ability to pay for itself has long been surpassed. To me it seems the only value the land is providing is a vehicle to launder money.

Probably just my tinfoil hat theory...

Just a sign of the times.
Undervalued assets don't stay that way forever. Nor do overvalued.
Competition not evil. Just another gauge on supply demand and value.
Hopefully your son can buy the pieces.

Had to read that one a couple of times but you sum it up well.
Goes well with your post about the best years to buy.

But I do think that one page article gives a glimpse of who is setting the values.

Yes. And I'm afraid the big money even if it takes a break, won't take it's eye off Western Canada again.

I have to wonder how long it would be before Sask experiences another land price increase like it did from 2008 to present.

Its been an amazing run up.
But the ~ten year period from1981 to 1993 wasn't very nice.

I may see that kind of decline again in my lifetime but I doubt I'll see another parabolic rise like I just experienced.

Yes. Farm debt has skyrocketed. You aren't shit unless you have a 7 figure debtload. 8 figures is even better.

I was just thinking about the title of this thread. Now, “ chaos” is not good. I think the daily aggravation that we have endured by our federal government and Chuck fall in this category. Our country has been in a state of chaos since the Harper days shut the door on sanity. What sort of person wreaks chaos over others? They evidently need to be the centre of attention so they wreak havoc and cause chaos. Trump also appears to like to cause chaos so now we have three Amigos.
