I don't even pretend to understand the difference between the various religions, but as far as I know these are all various sects of Christians are they not?
How do you personally reconcile your support for this regime, with your religious beliefs?
If anyone else is willing to explain what is going on, it would be much appreciated, forage?
The Orthodox Church or specifically the Russian Orthodox Church still operating in Ukraine has been relaying pertinent knowledge back to the Kremlin. The Russian wing of the eastern church split into its own sect a couple years ago and became the kremlins religious wing.

Thank you for your explanation of the events. That makes far more sense than forage's post

Forage’s hearts in the place at least. Russian Orthodox Church has numerous instances been caught parlaying bombing coordinates and harbouring spies. Catholic Church harboured Nazis and rat lined them out of Germany. Yes religion plays with politics.

Sorry, you think forage's heart is in the right place because he is celebrating and mocking peoples deaths?

Oh no. I was referring to his support for Ukraine and nothing more. Anything more he’s being nasty and callous like Mensa.

Remember the Winter War? Pre Ukraine invasion support in Finland for joining NATO was 20%, after 80%. If the bugger didn’t invade Crimea then Ukraine nobody would’ve had any animosity but like any other Russian tyrant they can’t break the mold like their predecessors. It is tragic but like the drug addicted relative who has so much potential and you try to save but ultimately give up on because you can’t fix a pattern ingrained for generations.

Finland has retained a conscription army through decades of peace, they have never trusted Russia since it's failed WW 2 invasion.

"Finland trains some 21,000 new conscripts every year, who then become part of its war-time reserve of 280,000 soldiers of whom some 10,000 a year are called up rotationally to refresher courses.

Some 870,000 Finns aged between 17 and 60 are liable for service in case of need. The contract staff consist of 12,000 people, 8,000 of them military personnel.

The Ground Force is equipped with some 650 tanks, around 200 of them being German-made Leopards types 2A6 and 2A4."

Putin has certainly made it possible for NATO to ratchet up it's alliance and man power. Just another example of how militaries fail under a dictator's rule.

Sweden will also be a part of NATO very shortly.

Not and expert just from what I heard and think.

Just like any industry in Canada it's getting harder and harder to get workers. The military badly needs recruitments.

Canadian forces have been underfunded for decades by our federal governments or when new ones take over they scrap what ever the previous ones have started. The list of shortcomings are extensive.

One thing Putin's unjustified invasion of Ukraine and China's increase in building of nukes and Taiwan has done is opened the eyes of governments in the West that they have to have a military in place to defend their sovereignties.

Canada has to get it's act together especially because of our Northern borders.
