Why don’t they put the windmills up in Germany, doesn’t the wind blow in Europe? This all stinks.

Many of us are of european ancestry but nobody in your extended family would recognize that place anymore.

Lob the seducer into that pool of lazy journalists. Thought country guide was a collection of defeated lefties more so but they now appear more with it than the old standard. It’s bloody pathetic the lack of effort they or any other journalists put into due diligence before publishing anything. It’s worse than bystander journalism. People decry alternative news sources but god the legitimate sources aren’t anymore reputable these days.

Good question. And the answer is no. Germany is literally one of the worst place in the world to put wind turbines or solar panels.
Even Chuck's solar panels in his mom's basement have a better chance of producing something useful then the solar panels in Germany do.
And in response to the question I posed in the pandemic thread about how often have governments admitted a project is a failure versus throwing more money at it, this is the ultimate example. And in spite of overwhelming evidence of failure, they of course chose to throw more money at it. Now reaping the rewards.
Makes one wonder if the eco-terrorists who have been encouraging this lunacy while fighting any useful energy production scheme will ever Clue into who's funding their entire movement. And the funniest part is that these are the same hypocrites screeching anti-russian propaganda at every opportunity.

I’ve been thinking the same for years. Russians, Saudis, and even wealthy Americans like the Rockefellers have been funding anti oil groups in Canada for years. Heck it was the Germans who harboured Lenin and inserted him in there at the right time. Even German agents and sympathizers ran a successful disinformation campaign in the USA that kept them out of both ww1 and ww2 for half the war.

I looked it up and Germany is #3 in the world in windmill power, top producer in Europe.
I’m guessing the kickbacks on this new deal between Canada and Germany are huge, the dictators will be laughing all the way to the Swiss bank of their choosing.

It's more of the negative Nellies canada is a shit hole club on Agrisilly.

Newfoundland is a great place for onshore or off shore wind farms and the investments in renewable ammonia hydrogen capacity will create jobs and lots of economic activity using a sustainable resource.

It will also provide zero emmision hydrogen to fuel a lower carbon future. Renewable energy storage that some said would never happen. Oh shit were they wrong!

But all we hear on Agrisilly is the complaining from the naysayers and skeptics.

Must be an interesting morning coffee on the ranch with the family for such negative nellies ranting on about how bad farming and the country is. LOL

Angus Reid has Justin Trudeau’s disapproval rating at 56%. I was just reading on Reuters that Olaf Schulz’s disapproval rating at 62%. Do you think the average Canadian or German trying to afford high electrical and heating costs is going to get excited about a wind farm in Newfoundland to produce Ammonia to export to Germany. More pie in the sky virtue signalling from so called progressive politicians. How will that lower inflation rates today?!

Don't confuse quantity with quality. As one-off says, put enough HP behind it,and even a pig can fly. They have squandered billions on wind and solar resources in one of the poorest locations possible. Yes, they produce some power as a result, but the productivity is so poor and the payback so terrible(never without subsidies) that the cost per unit is so bloated that they were paying some of the highest rates in the world even before the invasion.

Olaf Shultze wont be in power inside of a yr. and probably neither will Trudeau. I am ashamed to be German canadian as these 2 clowns make us look bad.

There will be no windfarm offshore in the maritimes. Nobody is going to fund windmills in a known iceberg and hurricane zone. I mean once Greenland starts melting, there will be hundreds of them making their way south.

There are no facilities even capable of using hydrogen yet. It could be blended with nat gas for heating but Germany doesnt want any of our LNG thats not ready either and the feds scuttled 2 projects already.

Shultz might as well build another Hindenberg

Oh shit somebodies wrong again! All they do is produce "some" energy according to our resident arm chair analyst. 49% is just "some" and the last 120 days is out of date! And Canada is a terrible country! I rest my case.

Renewables provide 49% of power used in Germany in first half of 2022

FRANKFURT, July 5 (Reuters) - Renewable energy accounted for 49% of German power consumption in the first half of 2022, up 6% percentage points from a year earlier thanks to favourable weather conditions, industry groups said on Tuesday.

Both higher sunshine intensity and wind speeds were behind the trend, utility industry association BDEW and the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research (ZSW) said in a statement.

Sounds like they should be weaned off of Russian natural gas any minute now then. Do you have any guesses why they are paying such exorbitant electricity prices with all that free wind and solar installed?

Try reading my previous post again. The efficiency of wind and solar in a country with such dismal wind and solar resources, results in having to install far more capacity to make up for the pitiful capacity factor. Hence the high prices.

Many in today's society are effected by a condition described as "belief perserverance".

"Belief perseverance is maintaining a belief despite new information that firmly contradicts it. Such beliefs may even be strengthened when others attempt to present evidence debunking them, a phenomenon known as the backfire effect"

I think they used to call it propaganda effect or brainwashing.

Or as Climate Barbie said just keep saying it loud enough and long enough people will believe.

Chuck seem to be a firm believer in chanting the same thing over and over.

“Higher sunshine intensity”. If you were as smart as you think you are Chuck2 you would realize Europe is experiencing a drought hence the higher sunshine intensity. Combine that with mandated reduced consumption to conserve natural gas and then the environuts can start claiming great results. And why if renewables are producing half of the electricity is electricity so expensive in Germany? You always tell us it is almost free!
