    Harvest Progress

Awfully quiet in her so I gather everyone is harvesting in overdrive.. We are 75% done here (Swift Current area).. Many combines just sitting now for a couple of days while waiting on last of cereals to mature. All special crops with the exception of flax and canola are finished here. Overall a decent crop for the year with exceptional quality to this point.. How are others making out??

Might start swathing canola soon. The odd field of peas has been combined, and a field or two of barley. My wheat needs 2 weeks frost free yet. Same with oats. With this nice stretch of weather, I am getting some faith back. This crop is a hum dinger, if we can get it off...

Glad for you to get so much done already. Already, you may ask? Well for me in the northeastern edge of agriculture, I am quite used to October, sometimes november combining, with the moisture we get and the cool fall days with little wind.

Good luck on the remainder of harvest!

A lot of lentils are done near Regina. Haven't heard of any wheat combined yet, but if the weather holds maybe this week. Some Canola is cut and needs a long time to dry. The swath is really thick and green.

Mostly barley combined in this area, about 1/3 of it, most needs aeration. We did wheat yesterday @18% mt, yield in upper 50's, 65lbs/bu. A canola field was dry yesterday near Wadena. About 75% of canola in swath, fields vary due to weeds. Weather a pleasant surprise, but humid nights here. Hope you all miss Monday showers, unless you need it for WW germination, then keep the rain all to your self.

Finished up yesterday (Cabri area) and Considering year the yields ended up decent, although in space of eight miles there is a twenty bushel difference on durum yields. Closer to river poorer yields and further south some bumpers. Most guys are done or close to it

25 percent done. Peas and wheat yields disapointing. May start swathing canola tomorrow when it rains.

Should be able to finally start this week once things dry up a bit more.

SE Sask Weyburn Area, Lentils pretty much put away Yeilds slightly above average.. Some Barley and Durum done Yeild and Quality great... Canola probably 30 - 50% done and best crop most guys have ever seen in this area.

Over all Harvest probably in the 50% complete range.
