This is my concern as well. How much of our tax dollars will be spent by communist governments for spy data contained in these data centers?

I'ver reconsidered my position on having a data center as a neighbor.

I thought that would be about the most harmless neighbor one could ask for.

Now I see that Russia is destroying the Ukrainian data centers because they were being used for AI drones and targeting.

Considering the increasing militaristic talk coming from Carney, I think I don't want a giant target nxt door. Having gas plants in the neighborhood as a military target is bad enough.

What I find amazing is the green crowd virtually silent on data centers , not a word about massive power and water usage but scream blue bloody murder at the oil , gas and ag industry. It’s bizarre lol

That is pretty low on the list of arguments against large data centers. They will be obsolete before they are completed.

What technology will make them obsolete?

The same technology that created them.

One of my favourite people and stepson, Kyler Cote, prepared this paper on how Big Tech is quietly undergoing the biggest structural shift in its history—transitioning from asset-light software powerhouses into capital-heavy digital utilities.

                  Enjoy

One going locally here just needs a final tick of approval. 500 full time jobs call that a trump comment. And power "apparently" building their own supply as they fear established solar farms will go broke trying to keep up with supply.
I just sadly dont understand the mechanics benefits of all this.
