Nothing has changed here. Empty clouds. Rain amounts keep dropping. Topsoil blown off fields. Nothing growing . Frost over night next few days.

Can be frustrating yep , areas north of here were even drier last year and seeding nearly non existent so far .Originally posted by Hamloc View Post
Mother Nature can be vindictive, last year you couldn’t buy a rain, this year sounds like you have too much. Still super dry here, our first seeded wheat is up.
this area 10-50% done , how it will turn out will be interesting
we went from good conditions mid last week to the wettest I have witnessed for this time of year .
No where near as wet as NE Sask though .
Snow on ground this morning in probably 1/2 of Sask
Going to be a challenge now

Biggest concern for us now is the amount of volunteers coming from all the hail damage late last August .
sprayer going to be busy by mid week
Hopefully it warms up lots so we can try to stay ahead of that potential nightmare now

20 acres left for me and will be done this morning. We had about 1/2 inch of rain on thursday with the hurricane winds that came with it. I have seen some pictures of flooding in some of your guys part of the country , and I sympathize with all that are going through that. Because we are so dry here , and for so long ( 10 years in some areas, no joke! ) I am hoping for a 6 inch rain for a week straight. In 2010 we had 20 inches of rain +- in my area and yes we had water laying around , but man did our part of the country do well for crops and hay. Subsoil moisture goes a long way in this area , and we have witnessed what happens when we don't have it. I will trade more moisture for little to no moisture , any time .

Yes that’s true, at least with moisture you have a chance .Originally posted by GALAXIE500 View Post20 acres left for me and will be done this morning. We are generally on the dry side with limited subsoil moisture, and that is never a good start either. But your area is bone dry
hopefully the next system sit in the SWLast edited by furrowtickler; May 16, 2026, 08:30.

Map looks about right. That darker blue blip along the border is my area. Few inches of wet snow sticking to vehicles this morning. Haven’t had this much moisture in one system for 5 years. Most will soak in fast once it warms up. Have a couple fields of wheat in and broadcast seeded 20 acres of rough breaking to oats for grazing. Wasn’t many weeds growing but now it’ll be easy killing after all this.Originally posted by furrowtickler View PostRecent system , not including yesterday
