Absolute facts here in my area.

The old boys had the best stories for sure. Now it’s just a race to see who can out do the neighbour and no time to stop and visit. The 70s were the best times to farm. Sure we didn’t make huge money but we did ok and had a lot of fun and no stress. Beer clouds rolled in you couldn’t get a chair at the beer parlor. Now they are closed. Happy Mother’s day.

I'll bet it in the '70s the old timers would reminisce about how the twenties were the best time to farm and in the twenties they would reminisce about how the 1870s were the best time to farm, ad infinitum.

Not that i knew him but my grandfather was trying to raise 3 sons on 7 acres of sand in 1939. In 1915 at age 6 russians burnt our village loaded us on a train sent them to a refugee camp south of moscow and forgot to feed them. He had no best of times. Thankfully made it here 1 month before the german army came again. Perspective.

Have you read "Gulag Archipelago"? History does not repeat but it often rhymes,, important lessons from that book.

Nothing like hearing the turth right from the mouths of those who's families/ ancestors sufferd the Ukrainian Holodomor and genocide at the hands of Stalin and the Russians.

100 years later and Putin(four day war)is inflicting Genocide 2.0 on the Ukrainian people right now, the big difference this time unlike many others, Ukrainians remember their history, and know all to well what Russians have done to them in the past.

100 yrs later and the same marxist/socialist ideology has penetrated the west that makes it inevitable for despot to control the population by tyranny
