You guys are in a different world. Very dry here. About 30% done here. Some over half. A few potholes this year but very little soil moisture.

      Probably better than being flooded.

We will never start seeding or harvest on a sunday. My dad never did as well and farming worked out for him for his 50 plus year career. Superstitious … maybe

Drill ones blockage monitor arrived and is installed. Drill two hooked to Anhydrous and now just few hoses and tips. Could roll tomorrow but we’re not going to. Doing yard stuff and mother’s day supper.

With my granddad nothing was supposed to start on a Friday. Otherwise it would never get finished.

That's funny, my granddad was the same, my dad used to tell me stories about how his dad would make him hook up the horses, usually in the dark on Thursday night, cut 200 feet of hay with a sickle mower just to say the job started on Thursday. There was always some explitives when he told the story.

In 5 days he'll have been gone 8 years, I miss those stories.

When my dad ran the farm he was impressed if we started by the 15th of May. We started yesterday thanks to the JD service tec who found the broken wire going to brown box. Still snow banks along some fields and ditches along the bush and its -3c this morning. Pasture grass is growing real........good ...not!
