Its insane that farm reps do SFA to ensure viability of an important industry to the economy.

Look at how many young farmers there are and the structure it takes to start.

Much like hockey players there are some young guys that may have a talent to farm but without any help it's futile. And unfair to the industry.

Meanwhile we have some guys representing us that are only there because previous generations were given adhoc payments and are too phucking stupid to see the demise.

FFS I drove into Swift yesterday and a lineup of 10 super Bs at G3 from the highway when we left a couple hours later there was still trucks.

The problem with farm reps is they don't understand that lineups of super Bs is no different than 3tons at wooden elevators 40 years ago except the downloaded costs of storage and equipment to farmers to the benefit of railways and graincos.

We may have been more environment friendly using branch line rail years ago.

For certain we have installed and abandoned more rail lines than many countries on this planet. And considering there is a trend to be 100million people in Canada, those rail lines may have come in handy.

Let's check the score card for Ontario.

Since this EV tariff has been implemented the one and only EV assembly plant in Canada has closed and its 1200 workers have been laid off. Zero new production or jobs have been initiated. 0.

So what has this tariff actually accomplished besides screwing over the Western Canadian Canola industry and keeping Big 3 corporate in the US fat and happy?

Accomplishing absolutely zero and the only negative affects are in ag which we are just sacrificial lambs to the eastern electorate

Yes. $2/bushel barely cover the basis. One more large buyer in the market would sway the basis a lot. Canadian canola is under priced.

stomping feet...Damnit I'm entitled to a 3rd new X9 with deere header and another condo somewhere!

I couldn't care less for what you have or how you got it but coming on here casually mentioning homes in Florida and Vancouver and 2 new x9's with deere headers this time, then saying your don't feel Canadian because you think you are owed $1,200,000.00 isn't a good look. I do look forward to your cocktail recipes!

I get why us farmers should feel torqued over how things are currently being handled but jeez by now we should know that We're the last on a long list of recipients that feel entitled to some payoff. Is it too much to expect to run a business knowing that good times will not last and crap can come along when you least expect it and save for the rainy day?

Maybe sharing some actual marketing tips (like writing covered calls on canola in a flat market) or some other handy money ideas(side hustle, farm sales direct to customer) maybe even a way to maximize rebates to lower costs would direct some responsibility onto us the farmers. CompLaining that we are not getting our fair share is just SO CANADIAN.

I really want everyone on here to be successful because if you are then I with all my faults may just get lucky to.

1 last thing...as bad as the last 10 years under the liberals might have seemed you can't deny that most of our balance sheets have made pretty impressive gains, and for that we should be very thankful.

100% depends where you farm the past 10 years , the balance sheets are all not like s/f’s

I think what SF means is our lost $$ because of political B.S. would have just been spent somewhere to make the cnd economy improve.
regardless of what each of our balance sheets look like.

Nothing stopping anyone from selling there farm here and moving south permanently. If Canada is the s" "thole some think it is then why stay, go south where everything is wonderful.Maybe talk to some American farmers first tho.
