Are you saying that Canada is perfect?
id say the Canadian government is overstepping its authority in many areas, we need government but nobody needs an overreaching government!

I’ll add that nobody needs a government not working for the people, this government is busy working for foreign interests…

What is everyone hoping Mark Carney will do in China this week?
It sounds like everyone wants lower tariffs on Chinese EV’s.
Do you all believe that this will solve the problems with China?
I certainly agree not much moving forward on EV production in Eastern Canada but that is thanks to Trump.
As far as some farmers balance sheets looking better over the last 5-10 years I would say Putin’s invasion of Ukraine made the largest contribution to higher grain prices. Prices are going down and costs going up, it is being taken back now.
Government subsidies general just raise our input costs higher.

I think more trade with China would be good for commodity producers inc Grains, O&G, lumber, and mining.
Some of the time, as China always seems to punish us choosing those products.
China is mostly a bottom picker, seldom pushing prices higher now.
But we are still exporting 80% to the USA tariff free under CUSMA.
The stuff Trump has tariffs on is what China ships the most of and would destroy S Ontario manufacturing.
Also see a huge risk that China will set it up to transship products to the US.
As far as having a country that takes advantage of trading partners and choosing between the US and China, only govmt spin could tilt that one.

Also expect China will be much more well prepared to negotiate and exploit every weakness.

But will be sometimes good for commodity producers.

Carney should have been in India and China within a short time of being elected. It was obvious that those countries has no use for Trudeau and Carney should have been there mending relations. What's this damn "Elbows up" plan. Its a sad joke. Germany was looking for oil / gas within the last couple of years and Trudeau's response " there is no business case"

Wrong way maybe your problem is your attitude. Its 3 x 9s not two. Any way its a second part to my crop report that if you check lots view every week because guess what its better than our provincial gov a putting out. In the winter i have time to do Ag related.
But if you think for one second farmers should just sit on their hands and not speak out when its their own gov screwing them that sir or ma'am is a problem.
For two long farmers out west have been yes ma'am to the east. it's time to say shove it. Canola farms were hurt to a tune of a billion dollars thanks to Ottawa. It's a thriving industry that has crushers now as the only buyer and guess what they are loving the system. So wake up read look around and maybe just maybe you will see where getting screwed large or small. Also you sound like Chuck so have a great day, keep hating your neighbours.

Also according to your theory i should be so mad at Brandt or Monette or any other farm or dealer hahaha. I don't care what the next guy has but i sure go for free to help a neighbour who is in distress every time.

Said this every time there is a crisis . And government help should be more localized as well. Look at the guys from the southwest that went to the government and were ignored while their APAS rep said " no help needed " .

Political incompetence is not and should not be part of farmers failures.

Doug Ford , who has more influence than all the farm groups , has said he wants the tariffs to stay in place.

                    Really? My attitude?
you're comparing me to chuck when all I'm saying is that as individuals we should take more responsibility for our actions? Whenever does a liberal take responsibility?

On my farm I've chosen to run 25 year old paid off equipment, but I also have chosen to have fewer acres and run a 1 man operation. I am content with what I have and can pass on a paid off farm to the next generation if they so choose to want it.

I get it that you are advocating for farmers, yourself and your next generation, and that is a good thing. I just suggested that there may be other ways to do it rather than complaining on social media that you no longer feel Canadian because Santa didn't bring you what you want.

Screaming at me and calling me hateful for my expressing my opinion is just what the chucks of the world do. you attack me and label me as a socialist and ignore my ideas of individual responsibility doesn't exactly win you any points in a debate .

Its a beautiful day, I'm going to go enjoy it, i hope you do to.

Good on you, 100% in agreement.

Constant complaining about everything , they sure paint a shitty picture for the rest of us farmers and for those who really need it.
