    Nutrient Port

Talk of potash going south has gone quiet this week. Would like to know what there ideas are on getting said potash to the port. A dedicated track, running rights, straight south and then west. I hope all the different grain commissions have been actively asking questions and considering partnerships. Thought this was quite exciting, hope it is not shut down by political posturing

when canada is bankrupt and the country is divided up sask and alberta will be seperate states as BC and the rest become waste lands trying to get in. Because we cant keep going the way we are. its not working.

Canada is a dismal failure. I am looking for a decent country to move to, right now Poland and Hungary appear appetizing. Just saying, this country is busted-broken- Carney trying to join the European Union, give me a break. Our prosperity depends on our closest neighbour.

There might not ever be any investment for port terminals or anything in BC ever again if they don’t get their land ownership laws under control. Who would risk spending millions to have some native band come forward and say “We own this terminal now” and the courts support them? And the government does nothing to kibosh it? Outside investment in BC might be over. We need to build dedicated tracks from the Prairies to Washington and to Alaska, and just go around BC. If they can’t get with the program, we leave them out, and let’s go.

Read somewhere Canpotex already has a loadout terminal at Portland if I remember.
188 car units cross at Yak/Bonners Ferry where Union Pacific has railyard and runs on UP track to Portland.
The Nutrien terminal is just a little ways inland at an old grain terminal site that was ready to go with services and Docking for ship loadout.
Used to load grain out of the Palouse and PNW.
Probably the grain would come in by barge from Lewiston or somewhere on the Snake/Columbia river system.

Why not make a switch Montana's (clean coal ) could go out of Washington instead of the so called Green Vancouver and Nutrien could use their docks for loading potash from sask. Everyone from B.C.would pee themselves to get rid of the coal.

It's very likely that Van was only on the list for political reasons. Clearly never a serious contender.
Geography has always favored southerly routes.
Infrastructure shortcomings and action paralysis has become the Canadian way.

I think Nutrien is shipping a good % of their production out of Hongcouver but needed more capacity?
                Just keeping their opinions open?

Might as well develop the infrastructure north- south instead of east-west. Western separation and statehood is inevitable now. Corporations spending billions of dollars recognize this and will spend (or not spend) accordingly.

Seperation shouldn't have anything to do with it. Profit should.
Wiki says the Crow was originally used to get a Canadian rail through the Crowsnest where US companies were laying rails to BC.
                    Geography doesn't change.
