If Canada and the USA would look at the North American advantage , we should have the highest standard of living and a productive workforce. Sending potash to be exported through the USA to maintain movement isn't the worst thing that can happen. Vancouver will be idle until this rain event passes. How many lost days and tonnes of product is slowed or backed up?

Meanwhile the rail network now stretches from any mine in Saskatchewan to the gulf , if need be and could probably return with phos.

North America has to start looking at the bigger picture as opposed to closed minded nonsense we see now.

Sure Trump is partly to blame but Carney travelling world isn't going to result in a better result unless we improve export logistics.

Potash coal grain have to be exported to enable a more buoyant economy .

Prince Rupert is the logical place to expand export capacity but it needs serious investment in rail. Single track won't cut it. I wonder how many decades it would take in this country to get a 2nd track built to P.R. We're just not a serious country anymore.

I hear talk about "spheres of influence" - for us that means a North American one that includes Greenland. We can't change geography. And neither can China and Russia. I don't think I will live long enough to see the outcome of this idea.

Didn't Alberta buy a rail line in the US?

Liberals are willing to spend 100’s of billions to move people by high speed rail along st. Lawerence but not help out improving rail lines or adding rail lines in western Canada that would move our products to tidewater. Sponges sure don’t mind the 20 to 25 billion a year sent east in transfer payments. Manitoba sure upped their welfare demands, 5 billion this year. Can u imagine if we didn’t have these tit suckers hanging on, 100 billion saved up in 4 years.

Would think Nutrien is rethinking a port in the the republic of trump after his tax on Canadian potash.

The interesting thing about potash is they could drop the price in half , to offset the tariffs, and they would still be making money. I don't think the farm lobby will allow these tariffs to happen. Getting closer to mid terms. Trump might be running out of options if the tide turns against him.
