Doubt the person who bought Bitcoin Oct 6/2025 @ $125251.00 would be in agreement with that statement based on yesterday's close of $90189.00.

Those that can't see any intrinsic value or any net present value of future 'anything measurable', are concerned a disorderly liquidation in search of fair market value could spread throughout financial markets (through margin call related impacts).

In case anyone is like me and curious about the 'store of value' and 'hedge against inflation' reasoning -- I've added a second chart comparing gold (in blue) to bitcoin (in black). The sharp break over the past two months in bitcoin while gold remains near record highs is certainly interesting.

Regardless of who is right in the long run - it's hard to argue against it increasing systemic risk in the short run.
