Were you not able to feel the slap in the face you got when SK3 said he can make it on $10.00/bu Canola. One brave poster at least spoke up.

Or, is Sk3 able to control the rain fall he gets on his farm annully, and therefore knows he can make it on $10.00/bu Canola and is guaranteed 55-65 bus/ac.

You guys let that tpye of B.S. go on here weekly without a word. Nobody else reads Agriville except a handful of farmers?

Certainly helps the direct payment you're wanting

    Have a great day Furrow!

lol , that was a chuck like childish response.

no ill feelings at all to those that can can make er off $10 canola , like I just simply pointed out , each area different

Lately forage has been quite successful at bringing the level of discourse on this forum down to the same level as Chuck's daycare.

      Insults, accusations, resentment, etc.

Might as well just invite Chuck back.

Thats why unfortunately farmers are never united in any effort to get anything accomplished to make their profession better

And it reflects the same trends in broader society, those who want to remedy the perceived Injustice always want to drag the successful down, never the other way around.

Our last frost that buggered up countless acres exactly one full moonth ago. Full moon again tonight must be too difficult for envirocanada to have the moon in proper phase.

When looking at actual 5 year Saskatchewan average numbers of 38 bus / ac and average cost before machinery and land of $370 , at $10 the vast majority losing big time .
Those numbers will vary with farms and areas but in general very very few areas can get by on $10 canola and that’s very quickly disappearing , 10 years ago maybe
No different than earning $15 / hr , very few places where you can “get by” but 10 years ago maybe

I am sure many areas will have over $500 / ac COP on canola especially next year even on modestly input farms , some have been over $600 for several years now ……. Depending on area
Canola needs to get back to $14 or higher or many areas will simply look at flax , canary seed or other options .

During a round table discussion on Saturday contract 15 and 16$ canola penciled out but not this 13$ stuff. Soybeans no money at 12$ but edible beans and oil sunflowers paying bills big time. Wheat just paying bills and keeping combine shinny . This is from guys who run more acres and sharper pencils than me. But the look on their faces when I mentioned $4300 for grassers off of the pasture was interesting.
