Resentful, selective memory on your part (Harrison Ford look alike) , I guess the complementary post I made of the picture you posted of your family a while back isn't consider one of the best things in life a father/husband could ever hear, and is the truest sign of being successful.

If only I'd agreed with you on a direct canola payment or not contradicted other poster's posts I wouldn't have been labelled as being resentful.

Canola needs to get back to $14 or higher or many areas will simply look at flax , canary seed or other options .
I certainly agree, yet BASF has no problem selling $800 bags of canola, why do you think that is Furrow?

You need to move on forage
a direct payment to canola and pulse producers should be a given the way this government has distorted our export markets with tariffs on a nearly non existent EV industry in Canada

Canola Seed at 800 cuz farmers keep buying.
          but what choice is there?
          All crop prices suck.

And are rents still $100 plus? Crop share still 25%? Land still close to a million? Because enough are BUYING!

Neighbor quit farming, all the farmers around like vultures swooped in to farm the 20 quarters...

And what if $10 canola is The New normal?
How long should the taxpayers pay Farmers to grow unprofitable canola for a market that doesn't exist?

How will distorting the market signals by subsidizing production resolve the supply demand imbalance?

Could this become the next cod fisheries, requiring perpetual welfare?

Time will tell , the market exists , the government handcuffed it
Taxpayers should never pay for a market that doesn’t exist, look at the Canadian EV market
no one’s asking or even considering that, this is hopefully a one time thing, if at all
I don’t think it will ever happen anyway in western Canada ag

Do the markets exist? Or was all of the increase since canola was last at $10 based on the renewable diesel/ sustainable aviation fuels hype.

Which was never economic. Which was always going to require mandates and direct or indirect subsidies either from the consumers of the products or the taxpayers.

At least worth pondering that question.
