Froze here last night. Nothing to really hurt anymore. Maybe nitrates in second cut annual forage but 3 weeks of blast furnace had everything dying, even trees.
Peas and oats done last week.
Very satisfied given the actual rainfall. Starting wheat today.
Thankfully very little with the dollar loss that's baked in. Hearing good yields as well.
Swathed a little canola as a time hedge. Rest sprayed.
Hiring a good canola swather if you can really pays for me. Glad not to have to own one.

Not many guys talking about frost damage. In the east central Sask area all green canola has turned white and ugly looking from last tuesday's frost.

The frost damage from Sat morning is widespread and severe, green crops bitched. No one including myself wants to look too hard, what will be will be. Then, have a peak of grain prices, absolute capitulation. Not sure what to call it denial, shock, disbelief...many on the edge of crop insurance, the good the bad and the ugly.

Here in this massive hail area it’s mostly just bad or ugly .
very good crops south of hail zone, and north of the hail zone in the drought area crop yields drop the further north you go
interesting how that hail storm formed, turned and went right down the line where the July rains stopped .

The 100percent hailed out were the lucky ones when it came to lentils. Base coverage of crop insurance for lentils was significantly higher than the current price.

The 100% hail went right to the wettest land. 12 inches of rain and pile on the hail.

Quite on here ,harvest is in full swing i assume everywhere. We will hit half way mark tomm fingers crossed.Shortest wheat crop we have had in years, yield mid forties.Regretting not rolling all the wheat.Need at least two good weeks to finish, forecast isnt great that far out.

canola has white tinge but nothing in the garden froze, trying to stay hopeful here that the damage to canola will only be a grade.

It is raining this morning, on a 30% chance. wheat down to 17 yesterday, thought I'd start again at 16. with these grain prices a few cents for a grade or moisture make a much bigger difference than when grain prices are higher.

A box of Reynolds [NODE="80"]What advantages or disadvantages did...s to farming??[/NODE] chain is $500, a tube of grease at coop is 8...If you're not gonna buy new equipment every year or 2 you're still gonna pay one way or another. Deisel fuel now the same price as before carnie took off the carbon tax. what a bunch of suckers canadians are.

Lentils , pea and now wheat done
trying canola today , will be some average , some moderate hail and some 80-100% damage
                      not sure what to expect
