    Rain lottery

    Who is getting rain this weekend?

    Looks like the clouds are going to split around us.

    That will be the last nail.

    Keeping our fingers crossed that we can get at least a half inch tonight and tomorrow. Looks widespread on the radar but won’t hit us till at least supper, hopefully it won’t run out of steam by the time it gets here.

      Hoping it crosses lake diefenbaker from the west. The forecast has changed this morning to getting close to an inch. That will change a few more times during the rain event I am sure.

                  We got 8.5/10ths. Almost 8" since April 1. 7 miles north of Lancer. Looks like most of West Central and northern SW Sask got 7/10 to 1.5"

                  3.8" is wowser.

                    Haven't checked in for awhile. Something about alligators awful close to assholes...

                    Mother Nature has been toying with emotions this year. Up till mid june it seemed that another year of absolutely dismal production was on tap. It's still a long ways from a sure thing, but at least I've mowed the yard grass more than once this year!
                    April -> June 12: 0.4"
                    remainder of june: 5.1"
                    July so far: 3.8" including 0.7 early this morning.

                    If you had told me the first 2 weeks of June that lodging durum was in our future, I'd have bet the farm and said "not a chance".

                    I'm still shell-shocked by multiple years of drought and think that there must still be another shoe to drop... Effective seeding date for alot of durum was June 12th. That's stupid late! Multiple stages of growth, made in crop herbicide spraying a timing nightmare, but if frost can stay away till mid september, there's potential here.

                    -It's always darkest before the dawn.
                    -That defeat is thought certain, does not mean the struggle is worthless.
                    and perhaps the one thats held me through the multiple years of drought:
                    -Lord god, give us rain, and a little luck... I'll take care of the rest!

                    Cheers.
