The difference between canola and milk?
The top ten milk producing US states alone, red or blue, have 20 senators.

Here, Quebec gets what Quebec wants. And our Senate a facade.

Carney just capitulated on the Digital Service Tax that was estimated to bring in billions. I see no harm in throwing a couple billion at agriculture

Wait until he capitulates on dairy. Those dairy guys are the partners you need when you lobby.

Instead of looking over the fence and complaining that it's not fair that someone else is getting money from a bankrupt government, so therefore I deserve more, we should demand they stop subsidizing ALL industries.
More than one way to level the playing field.
Might as well get used to not having safety nets or subsidies, since our government is close to financial collapse, and these programs are going to end no matter what.

Agriculture will not break a government.

Other idiotic things they fund will.

And every other special interest group and industry says is the same thing about their handouts.

I would like to differentiate between an incentive and a handout.

                  Which farmers are struggling?

Not according to this public forum.

I go to the Friday weekly crop report and see pictures of million $ combines and tractors with air seeders, along with good looking crops.

Of course it's the price of doing business when operating a modern grain farm we all know that, but to others lurking, it hardly sends a messges of suffering.

Like they say a picture is worth a 1000 words, maybe those who's crops are suffering due to drought should be the one's posting pictures. Now that might hopefully catch the eyes of those who need to see the suffering of some.

I personally have no problem helping those that truly need it, but ask yourself who administrates the program to ensure the ones who turly qualify are the ones getting the government aid?

Likey impossible from being abused, that's why there's no more ad hoc Ag programs

There was countless pictures from the past few years on here of not so great crops , and vast majority of us on here run older equipment, that’s a fact.
pictures of brand new equipment and excellent crops is S/F , and good on him for being a very good farmer in a fortunate area that represents less than 10 % of Saskatchewan
Crops looked great last year at this time as well , but anyone who actually farms knows full well what happened last July into August when great crops withered and only produced 1/2 the yields it should have been
                    Don’t be a chuck

The most power the West had was 2011 to 2015 and all it was (on here) was a constant bitchfest about Ritz. Was nothing stopping the Cons from creating a top tier farm program, but like always, the Cons (like any other politician) dont give a shit about any farmer, unless there is a kickback in it for them.
