Been there and it’s a sick feeling
Hopefully something materializes asap for that whole area
Are your crop insurance levels decent Tone ?
our coverages are now the lowest in many years so hopefully July is not as cruel as last year for us

2/10’s here that won’t help much.
Weak spindly wheat fields that are patchy aren’t going to yield much!
There’s still hope for canola but it’s going to need rain soon to amount to much.

5th leaf of cereals determine yield, everything after that has to be favourable to reach that potential. Having said that, the heads coming out so far on the early crops are only an inch long which means the yield potential is very low. I don't know if those that work for government with degrees understand there is a wreck coming.
And it is going to be a large one. Meanwhile politicians are all on holidays for 12 weeks.
Back in the day when Politicians actually worked , a guy like Grant Devine didn't mince words with guys like Mulroney ( not that he was a push over ) . And they certainly didn't ignore the issue.Last edited by bucket; Jun 22, 2025, 10:04.
