I'm not far from there either. About a half inch of rain since the snow left. It's getting desperately dry, the hay is turning brown on the hills and it's not even June. I'm just dusting in my greenfeed crops now. Not good.

Pretty sure I saw ashes falling for about when it first rolled in but with the wind we had it was hard to tell. Speaking of wind we have had enough of that too.

Seemed to be some little pieces of leaves also.
We are only about 10 miles south of the east edge of the fire.
Temp dropped from 30 to 22 in about 2 hrs.

Might be more grain buyers who sell imputs who are having trouble sleeping at night these days. 10 bu canola doesn't cover much.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. I am in general an aggressive pre seller and I’ve sold virtually nothing. I’m typically 50% sold right now. I can’t be alone in this and my feeling is the grain co’s have virtually nothing on the books.

Hasn't most credit risk for inputs been transfered to third party credit like FCC or Scotia Bank and those types. Are there any GrainCos who sell crop inputs that will take a crop in the field as collateral? I would think they would want a more secure form of collateral than a crop that may not cover the year's expenses.
