Quite a few years ago, my Dad was seeding on a mile stretch, and he said "We are spending 58.00 per minute out here!" 54 ft drill at 5 mph. Yesterday we were spending 118.88 per minute with a 76' drill at 4 mph.

Then watch it freeze off and have to redo into dry soil , zero fun .
catch 22 , NW and NE Sask were dry to start , so does one giver while still decent soil moisture or hold off ??
nothing ever easy in farmin , ever
with absolute zero guarantee of rain, decisions that would melt the average persons brain
never a right or wrong decision with the dollars involvedLast edited by furrowtickler; May 17, 2025, 22:46.

Has been cool and windy here. Top inches very dry, dusting all day behind the drill. We are well ahead of last year as far a seeding goes and got a reasonable outcome in 2024. This is different. Drought stress and cold isn't helping the chemical work either.
