Manitoba could become Europe's not-so-secret weapon against Russia

Time for real discussions about a commodity corridor to Chuchhill. That $150B we wasted on sustainable bike paths sure would come in handy about now.

Better get more ice breakers and spend some money on that rail line. Scratch the ice breakers. With global warming it will be ice free.

      Because Petee says so????

Because a certain pulse trader stripped 120 million out of the so called fix of the infrastructure to Churchill???

Churchill is viable , depending on how you value things prior to when SHTF.

I can only imagine what the response of the Federal Liberals and their environmentalist allies will be to the suggestion of a pipeline across the tundra.

This plan to move product from western Canada to Churchill bypassing Ontario and Quebec's sacred soil while lowering CO2 by providing natural gas instead of coal to the world is fatally flawed, it drips of common sense and logic. Completely forbidden in Canada at this point in time.

Not sure how Churchill can be viable.

If Trudeau actually believes in his glowball warming rhetoric, then Canada should get crackin' building rail lines and pipelines to Churchill, as soon as possible,,, so the infrastructure is ready to go for when the ice is gone and shipping can take place all year round.
Doesn't he always say,,, coast to coast to coast! gag!

Enviromentalists would make nice chewy treats for polar bears replacing tuff old seals. Plan going full steam ahead would take maybe 15 - 20 years ? Does Europe have that much time, could get chilly in the old palace.

What a dream - a central north-south trade corridor from S. America through US to Europe. Maybe someday there will be a high-speed tube pumping or conveying straight through.

So where was Peter when he was 2nd in command under Harper's CPC government.

The CWB was the only one shipping grain out of there from NE Sask, and we all know what happened there.

Constant battles for years over the viability of the Port of Churchill. Not to mention you couldn't get shipping companies to go there as it was only open for a couple months a year.

The Harper government was also in power when Putin invade Eastern Ukraine and Crimea in Feb/2014.

I doubt Peter knows that you can only go 20-30 miles an hour over the tundra on the rail line.

Now while Mackay is sitting on the side lines he reveals his pipedream.

Any wonder the CPC have been coming in 2nd lately.
