      I am sure in the past in talking to my local bearing retailer different brands of greasable bearing have the hole in the outer race on opposite sides because he always asks which side it is greased on and this will dictate the brand of bearing I need..

        If Deere made a motor vehicle there probably would have been a recall, but off road, it's not that important.

          The first time I lost the beater bearing I took it back and told them it was the wrong bearing because it couldn't get grease...They said its all they had for a part number...I asked if they could find one that would work..the next time was the same thing ...but they just keep stocking that part.

          I should have went to a bearing place to find the right type.

            I would assemble the flanges on the bearing an the bench and without any shaft and hold it in the vice. See if it will take grease as the flanges don't fit that close on the bearing surface.
            If not modify till it will but try avoid cutting a slot across the race as it may cause it to split under load.

            Hamloc suggestion is best but that bearing has odd inner race.

              Probably should go to a good double sealed non greasible bearing. Probably last as long.
