25 million acres of f all is still f all. Suppose Townsend will next come on and say there’ll be a bin buster on the way. We’ve had good moisture so far but heat will be taking bushels in the next few days. Was digging around and it’ll take inches of moisture to keep things going. So it doesn’t take much of a rocket scientist to figure rest of country dried out bad will be lucky to harvest a bushel. At this point acreage reports a meaningless numbers.

Crop looks wonderfull here today but we have only had about 2.5inches since snow left.
Haven't had a rain last much more than 10 minutes.
See what's left when this high pressure dome gets bumped out.

Got a surprize 1/2 in pn Saturday afternoon. HAPPY Happy Happy!

he was out a few days after the Apr report saying, Stats canola planting numbers were too low and they were taken too early to be accurate.

Far more realistic 👍, 25 mill avenue is laughable

Must be misprint in canola acres ??
That’s impossible to be 3.5 million acres above what Larry posted which is far more accurate

I started with 24million acres… but to get a good discussion going I increased it to 25.

In central Alberta… it is going to be a wonderful striking yellow this summer… if we get any reasonable rain in the next 2 weeks. Good weed control and crop stands.

                      Question:
Will Cinderella Canola beat King Wheat for total acres in western Canada?

Would not be surprised if Canola beats Wheat this year!

                      Cheers

Lots of canola on canola here.
Most of it looks like half a crop..

I wonder if numbers reflect the reseeding. There was a lot of that. Looks like crap now.

The reseeded stuff (canola) I've seen north east of Prince Albert is extremely late it wont make it if there is a sept frost, or
if its droughted into bolting and flowering at a foot tall ( harvest a 10 bu acre crop) might be the least painful preferred option?

I think they should start predicting harvested acres

There isn't 15mmt canola crop even if they go to 30 million acres
