Marked earth day 2021 with the purchase of a gas powered inverter generator so that when the green folly shuts down the electrical grid, we can keep this place going.

In fact, I spent the day walking through heavy bush around the farm. Enjoying the sights, smells, and sounds. Very relaxing, and very satisfying.Originally posted by foragefarmer View PostTo be able to walk through the heavy bush we have around our farm, there is nothing more relaxing.
I didn't even realize I was celebrating earth day in the forest until later on.
Did I mention that I was more walking on the forest, or perhaps down is a better choice of words.
And the sounds were metallic, and the smells were mostly diesel exhaust.
By the end of the day I could drive my pickup across another brand new field, and the forest is up in flames. Doing my part to feed the world and save the rainforests.
Truly is satisfying to bring virgin high OM black soil into production. Full of decades of cow manure. These areas will outproduce anything on the farm, regardless of rain or drought. And going immediately into no-till after shallow discing on year one, returning all straw, it will continue to maintain its high OM and productive capacity.

"John Kerry, President Joe Biden's special envoy for climate, said Wednesday that one of the only ways to curb the climate crisis is an all-hands-on-deck global response when it comes to lowering emissions.
"The United States could go to zero tomorrow—I mean we can't but if you're figuratively speaking could go to zero—we'd still have a problem. The world would still have a problem," Kerry told Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart.
He continued, "If China went to zero tomorrow with the United States, we'd still have a problem. So every country has to come to the table. This is the single biggest multilateral, global negotiation that the world has ever needed."
Kerry added that "the stakes could not be higher" but said "we're not behaving internationally like it is in fact an existential challenge."
"We even have deniers still in the United States," Kerry said. "We're the one nation that has a lot of deniers and a lot of money has been spent in our country to create that doubt and the possibility of denial."
This week, Biden will assemble 40 world leaders for a virtual climate change summit. Among those who are expected to be in attendance are Russian President Vladimir Putin, China's President Xi Jinping, Brazil's Jair Bolsonaro, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and more."
So.... John Kerry is saying that net zero carbon emissions won't solve the 'Climate Change' "Problem"????
So..... We people all need to move to Mars???
The 'existential climate threat' is clearly impossible to solve... unless we can control the sun!!!
The existential 'threat' exists because greedy people believe we are too stupid to see through this "existential scam'!!!!
I am all for real sustainable reality based practical solutions... not 'existential fear mongering'!
Perhaps Joe and John should win this years Darwin Award!!! Which should be one way no return tickets to the South Pole for a decade or two!!!
Cheers

Solution... it is simple:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land.
God Bless us all! God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Cheers

Every furnace and boiler in the province is running today
Rosetown -16 windchill -23. That ties it for the coldest night there going back to 1937. I can't find Environment Canada temperature records for Rosetown older than that
Noticed Saskatoon has tied the low record for this date set in 1968 with records going back to 1892.
We will now return you to the climate change channel and regular sky is falling programming....Last edited by farming101; Apr 23, 2021, 06:40.

There is a fair amount seeded in west central .
Be interesting to see how it will effect germinated crops .
Seed mortality could be a real big issue .

I couldn’t agree more. Yesterday around 4 in the afternoon I checked the temperature and it was -2. I walked in my shop to grab some tools, my furnace was running and I thought man we are lucky to have affordable heat and then I thought that is one thing Justin Trudeau wants to take away, affordable heat. And why because -2 on April 22 isn’t cold enough?! Fml!Originally posted by farming101 View PostEvery furnace and boiler in the province is running today

Agree on all accounts. These idiots think they are smart enuf to change the weather. The thing that pisses them off is they can’t control the sun and it is what controls our weather. What they gonna say next it’s getting to cold we gotta let more light in our atmosphere. It never ends with these phucktards. The thing they got going for them is the fact that there are more and more stupid people in this world that don’t realize the weather is right out their front door and if they paid attention like their life depended on it they would know the weather always changes and they shouldn’t have to be taxed for it.
This agenda to distribute wealth shud be just called what it is not more lies and insults to peoples intelligence who actually pay attention to the weather like there livelihoods depend on it.
I can say over the past 20 years crops have been better as an average and I truly believe it’s due to slightly cooler temperatures. Better agronomics among other things has helped but if the C02 has undisputedly risen accordingly to the scientific experts how is that bad for us. Plants love it and indirectly it keeps our society from spiralling into anarchy.
What will be will be. We as humans just have to realize we can’t micromanage and try and fix or unfix things we can’t. There are greater problems we need to tackle like waste management.

Mixed a case of Tums into the silage ration so to control the belching in the feed pens. Maybe burn the hiway ditch later to get rig of all the Timmies and Mc d's cups . Used the cutting torch to keep my hands warm while working on the planter . - 10 this morning looks like mother earth is calling the shots and we don't.
