    Your an idiot
Since you dont know, a significant portion of farms are now incorporated. Virtually all of them being family corporations. Tax structure does not make someone's business evil does it?

SM in Canada has kept families running those farms, it's easy to get jealous of the perceived benefits (mostly cash flow) they have, I understand. Check out the poultry industry stateside, there is like 2 or 3 players that run the entire show. Cant speak for Eastern Canada but it's not like that out west.

Personally, I don't care for SM either.
But here, yet again we have one group of farmers trying to tear another down.

Sm was designed to support small farms(50 cow
Dairies, small poultry farms) now the majority of the quota is on large operations maxed out on debt and quota trying to get rich at all costs( lots
Won’t even hire locals, they want cheap foreign ers) and bid land up so no one in any other farming sector even has a hope.
But I’m just jealous and your more informed

Dont disagree with most of what you said. Remember, If you can't beat them, Join them! What I find funny is lots on here like to bash SM while promoting right wing views. SM is completely a capitalist venture. Only barrier to entry is $$$

What area do you farm in?

                Completely capitalist venture?
I have no trouble to afford Sm products,
But a lot of people do. Why take these dollars from the poor and put them in the pockets of the rich(top 1/10 th of 1 percent). In capitalism the poor could source out the lowest non artificial ly
Inflated foodstuff they could find leading to more prosperity and economic success for there families. This system is promoting inequality and
                Eliminating competition.

In about 1975 you could put your name on a quota list, so we did for turkeys and chickens. We waited and moved up to about third on the list- about 30 years and the powers expunged the list. Pffft!

If you happen to be in the Lacombe(ish) hwy 2 area, I can sympathise with your perspective on competing with SM farmers, it would likely change anyone perspective. Not begrudging them, just pointing it out.
