So let’s see if I have this straight. We had the lowest Corporate tax in the country, but we gave up $4.7 billion in taxes by reducing that by 33%. We scrapped the carbon tax which put $2 billion into revenue, now we pay federal carbon tax. We also cancelled rail contracts which would have put another $2 billion into revenue. And we refuse to impose a 5% sales tax which would add another $5 billion to our revenue. My question is this - “How much gall does it take the only Province in the Country without a sales tax, to go to Ottawa and claim to deserve a $2.4 billion handout?

Hmmm, let me think, about as much as a province that massages its revenues to be have not then takes hundreds of billions of transfers from AB.Originally posted by mustardman View Post“How much gall does it take the only Province in the Country without a sales tax, to go to Ottawa and claim to deserve a $2.4 billion handout?

You seem to be salivating over tax money like a regular old hammer n sickle fanatic.
Separation is the only way for all of Alberta's money to stay in Alberta. People seem slow to take that in. I mean really slow.
Everytime Kenney is with Ottawa, he might as well stick an apple in his mouth, get on all fours and squeal like a pig because Trudeau is not going to give one shit about the West - Liberals don't need it to win.
Now go grab yourself an apple.

At 12% we didn't have the lowest corporate tax rate in Canada, Quebec is 11.6% and Ontario 11.5%. And Alberta is presently at 11% but on its way to 8% which I personally think is too low. The carbon in the 2018-2019 budget year was projected to bring in $1.3 billion. Since the inception of the tax the NDP spent it all on rebates and on so-called green initiatives. And I happen to agree we need a sales tax. as for the oil by rail your forgetting the high up front cost and the revenue was projected not actually coming in yet. We wouldn't need oil by rail if pipelines could get built. And a $2.4 billion dollar handout?! Not really just asking to get back more of what we send to Ottawa. And Mustardman don't you live in Saskatchewan, you write as if your an Albertan!Originally posted by mustardman View PostSo let’s see if I have this straight. I Do live in Sask but as a Canadian Taxpayer, Alberta has some MAJOR Problems that will affect All taxpayers. Like the 100 Billion to clean up orphaned well which Alberta has ONLY collected $226 Million on!!! Bad management in the Petro State of Alberta will be paid by the public purse while the Oil Companies LAUGH all the way to the bankOriginally posted by Hamloc View PostAt 12% we didn't have the lowest corporate tax rate in Canada, Quebec is 11.6% and Ontario 11.5%.
