It’s a part of the same condition Mallee:

“According to ICD-11, the following disorders are counted among motor neuron diseases: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), progressive bulbar palsy (PBP), pseudobulbar palsy, progressive muscular atrophy (PMA), primary lateral sclerosis (PLS), and monomelic amyotrophy (MMA), as well as some rarer variants resembling ALS.”

John continued to walk and drive on the farm until he entered the hospital.

          Life isn't always fair.
Watching a friend with ALS go down hill this past year. Humbling to say the least. Appears to be affecting him all over.
A lot of respect for loved ones who home care. Time to care for yourself now.

On the topic of ALS, I had an acquaintance who was also a friend of my neighbor who was diagnosed the ALS. He lived his life to the fullest as long as he could. He was single, predeceased by his parents and estranged from his siblings. I never saw him much but what shocked me was how he decided to "manage" the final stages of ALS as it progressed and would have made life difficult. He opted for Dr. Assisted Suicide, I was shocked and taken aback! I didn't know it was really an option, I knew it was talked about and challenged but didn't think it was possible. He just wanted to "check out" while there was still a bit of quality of life and avoid the difficult final stages.

            To each their own....

I personally never met John and Carol but do remember them exhibiting their purebred Hereford cattle at agribition. I was a kid at the time helping my dad with our purebred Herefords. This was back in the earlier 70’s. I remember that they had some good quality cattle. My condolences to the Husband family!

Miss Parsley. I always call you that, and forever will. I am extremely sad to hear this news. Your kindness to my family personally will never ever be forgotten, and those special packages will live on as testament to your kindness.

The phone call we had meant a lot to me and was above and beyond normal.

Words don’t go very far, but I give you my sympathy. From the bottom of my heart.

What is most difficult is being an ALS patient. And the incidence is growing.

                  That’s a real concern.

That’s kind of you. Thank you.

Agriville is a community all of its own. Common interests, and concerns. Cultural likeness. Farming has a generational and community strength. Quite amazing. Pars.
