Not sure about Trudeau. Lots of socialists down east. Trying to give Goodale a kick in the nads though.

Its not that I haven't seen snow or rain before in harvest.....the biggest issue is that the crop wasn't ready before the first rain and gained very little before the snow that followed....

The crops will dry eventually but its looking like next spring not November

Perhaps but for us yesterday was the first day of 2019 harvest and could only get it to 17%, then rain by 9:30 last night and 3 inches of snow with wind this am on already fairly flat crop. Hopefully we still get a fall but so far not looking promising.

I was on the record in September saying there is lots of time. There was. But I am now saying time is running out. Bucket nailed what I didn’t see as clearly before. This crop is not even mature. The amount of green swathed canola, green standing flax, green areas in oats and wheat, the fact there is STILL barley out, is just crazy. I have combined 300 bushels of oats and 150 of wheat so far this fall. Oats wouldn’t flow this morning.

My wheat was 20 yesterday. I think now when it cools off, if it goes through the combine it needs to be done never mind moisture. Which scares me. But leaving crops out over winter scares me more. Been there, done that, more than once, it has rarely been a winner.

I have seen it be over by now too many times. THAT IS FREAKING SCARY!

Yup, same here. Stuff is still green even if it was dry, most fields haven't started yet. Still peas out there.

Some times you win, some times you don't. That is what makes it so exciting

Just a quick question, does all your total income come from the farm or is it a second kinda bonus income ?
Realize that Sask farmers are not 100% covered by insurance...... not even remotely close .
Gives one a whole different perspective as to weather, lost grades , huge grade discounts and lost income not covered at all .

You're being too generous furrow - should have asked if ANY of his income comes from production agriculture. I've farmed for a while and have never met a farmer yet that claimed that they were "excited" by the prospect of sometimes winning sometime not.

As exciting as meeting my propane guy on a very regular basis is at the dryer, nobody downstream (feedlot, elevator, etc) seems to want to share the pleasure of the $3,600 bill from each visit of his.
