3 inches on ground and snowing now in west central. Standing fairly ripe wheat still standing, green wheat is on the ground. Almost all canola in area is swathed.

This idea that we had a surplus sitting on the farm was a made-up crock of shit.

Any farmer who didn't take the 10 in June or just a couple weeks ago is out of grain or ****ed in the head.

There are lots of lentils still out here, enjoying the cool snow since it’s been so hot all year. 🥵

The biggest concern out there is that last year when this area got smoked with heavy snow , feed wheat prices still held up ok . Could still make a few dollars at the end of the day to pay for all the parts and repairs to get it . This year it’s down $1.5 / bus ..... that takes away any hope of a return . That’s by far the biggest problem. Then facing increased inputs for next year .... add that up and there will be a lot of red ink ..... but on the farm level only . The rest of the Ag industry will continue in like nothing ever happened

The inpout indistry was kinda worried back in the spring when guys werent spraying fungicides, but they made it all back in spades on glyphosate and reglone. Good to go. Next will be book your canola seed while supplies last.

I hear different things about the US crop, some is ready to come off, some will be November. Fall plantings could be down, spring floods ruined stored crops, maturity way behind. Really hard to get a gauge on that area.

Don't know about the US corn crop but the crop around here is going to take some drying down. Big, good looking crops but a long, long way off combining. The temperature drop off in mid August has really delayed the maturity of our silage corn too. Frost has happened so it is what it is now. Just need to wait on the ground drying and the silage crews getting going again - sitting at over 2" rain since Thursday and still raining.
