The corn keeps slowly chugging along here in cool wet dreary conditions.

Cobs have a long ways to go yet.

It ranges from 2 to 11 feet tall depending if it got too wet but averages out to 8’ or so.

Looks good you use it for silage?

First full day here swathing canola. Second rig will run with me starting today.

Still some colour and no sprouting but one more rain on it and it’s screwed. #2

Still standing but clouds to the west.

            It’s so tough.

At 2:30, 50-60% humidity all over the province = poor drying.

Then this hit us at supper time.

Little bit stuck today. Cutting along a slough.

SF I bet the grain buyers find mildew in your wheat. Picky bastards

I thought mildew tolerances were relaxed a bit?
But this year it probably won't matter, there will be enough other grading demerits to use.

I found sprouts in our neighbors standing durum.
And our swathed wheat will be bad.
I will be in touch with the grain commission to determine if a falling number test is warranted depending on a visual assessment first.

Some swathed green peas beside us are holding up amazingly well, I doubt they can sun bleach because any pods exposed to the sun are black....like wearing sunglasses. There is some sprouting too.

Boy is there some wicked undergrowth in our flax and some swathed crops. That pea field I just mentioned is solid green with black swaths.
