There is a good argument that not investing in low carbon technology will be bad for the economy as well. There are lots of jobs and investment happening in clean tech and renewables. We will still be producing and using oil and gas in the next decades even as we adopt more electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles and renewables. It will be a transition not an abrupt change.

We also have to calculate the economic costs of global warming and increasing sea levels. Droughts, floods, huge changes that have a bill attached. So there are economic implications if we do little.

Fools are those who are resistant to change when it is obvious that continuing along a path that is not sustainable, will lead to severe problems. The science is not negotiable.

Agriculture can be largely exempted from carbon taxes with good policy if that is required. But agricultural practices will have to be changed to reduce emissions as agriculture is still a large emitter.

Fools are those who say the Greenland ice sheet will melt and sea levels will rise dramatically because of it causing the world untold death and destruction.

Farmers have been forced by economics to slash all consumption over last 30 years... THAT should be recognized by society...

It has been snowing here all morning so the door on fall work is closing fast.

Arguing with Chucky is frustrating just like the weather.

I really want a warmer climate but doubt I will ever see one unless I move south.

Yup, little chance of building reserves for next, once the ground is froze.

In climate news, more and more scientists are becoming unafraid since the Democrats are out of power, and more of them are writing scientific papers about the myth of glow-ball warming.

Chucky, you would be much more credible if you told us that you live off the grid, use wind and solar for your energy requirements, do you?

Yup and the Ice sheet in Greenland will still be there 10,000 years from now.
Maybe bigger maybe smaller but still there and a wild guess is that ocean levels wild not have risen 30-40 ft or what ever climate extremists are saying .

Forecast was for 5-10 mm of rain but what we got is heavy snow all day and it looks really wet.
Hard to tell how much rain this will make.
