    2015 is a shit year

Darcy lost a Grandmother early on... then we lost a very good friend, farmer, and father this summer... and this morning I find out a buddy over in Germany lost his life last night.

Who gives a shit about farming, a good crop or a poor crop making money or loosing it... What's it all matter? In the end absolutely nothing.

Family, and friends. That's what matters.

So what we had a shit harvest too getting stuck all the time, wet crop, heated grain that wasn't even tough... you think it's a big problem till you get news of someone close passing on... and it all means nothing.

Take a minute and think about your loved ones and friends... they are far more important than this job we do scratching dollars into pennies.... and I'll tell you one thing for sure... that job ain't worth people going at each others' throats.

Lost my dad this year.He never thought he ever retired from farming even at 92.Last birthday card I got from him just said.Happy birthday.Keep farming.Probably will just because I love my grandchildren to come from the city and enjoy it.It is like going to camp for them. That makes it worth while for me.No bells and whistles on this farm.

Klause, life is fleeting. As people important to us leave this earth, new little people come to more than fill our life. So, on one hand I grieve the loss of dear ones, on the other hand I welcome and live for the next generation.

No kidding "fleeting", talking to guys my age, where the hell did the years go? Yet most are working like they are immortal, never having enough. Adding stuff, stress being overly busy. Happiness is being satisfied with less.

Just wait until you have some kids. Your wise beyond your age but you still got a lot coming.

Worst words i ever read almost a curse.

"Dont ever think things cant get worse"

            Can't remember the author

Cotton, thats what my dad said to me once..."Things are never so bad that they couldn't be worse". Not a statement of negativity but one of "be grateful things aren't worse". Look for the silver linings.

Ahhh, the circle of life. My brother in law's brother died of cancer afew days ago(about 6 months after diagnosis), in his late 40s with a 5 year old daughter. Life is a delicate balance, sudden deaths... suicides, accidents...here today gone tomorrow, in an instant. Final. Only to live on in the memories of good friends and family...

For us nothing is more important than spending time with the kids or the Grand kid..Make time for them, because if you don't, it will turn out like the song."Cat's in the Cradle".Some day they will not have time for you..

Grandkids are wonderful ! Had 2 sets of them. First 2 were non stop all season sports and the younger 2 were non stop music on multiple instruments and voice. We attended all events that we could including stopping work early. The best time of our lives, bar none !!
                  Enjoy them while you can.

Remember family and friends are way more important than a fricking farm!
