    Corn Soyabeans

    Are both having great days.
Corn looks like a new high at 455 and soybeans hit 1223.

Does anybody know the all time soy high?

    Was it $12.90?

      CP,

I know, I thought that things might be quiet on boxing day but it appears money never sleeps or takes a day off...lol..

if that is the all time high we are definitly going to be setting records in '08 when it comes to beans and corn fighting for new crop acres.

One note, if corn and Soybeans go nuts for acreage watch the US winter wheat getting plowed under and switched to either one.

Kinda makes me glad we have 35,000 bu of corn in storage. No way I'm going to be ripping up any winter wheat for corn or beans though, with the price I've already got contracted I can make way more money on the wheat that's already in the ground and paid for than I can on $5 corn or $13 soybeans.

If Dale k can make decent money on his wheat, my guess is he is from OUTSIDE the Western canadian wheat board jurisdiction.LOL
I think you're from ontario Dalek?

                Freewheat,

I think poor DaleK is one of those discouraged ripped off Ontario wheat growers that is forced to give his wheat away for nothing... because the CWB fails to protect his interests!

I have heard recently from the CWB CEO that these ON. silly wheat growers don't have a clue how to market grain... which must be why wheat acreage is increasing in Ontario while decreasing in the western CDN "Designated Area" controlled by the CWB!

Must be why the Ontario wheat grower can sell equivelent 3CWRS for $8/bu next fall (08) and well over $10/bu over the next few months Dec/Jan/Feb08... on the last quote Dec 21/07;http://www.ontariowheatboard.com/dailyprices.php

Rather sad how these folks are forced to take such "rip off" cash prices like these... !

Daylik I said US farmers not Ontario Farmers. Yes isn't it funny how an area with out the blessing of the CWB is increasing wheat but the heartland of wheat country is quiting the crop.
US farmer with 250 bus corn at 5 = 1250 an acre. 70 wheat at 10 is 700, fert difference wont cut it corn will rule the day.

                    SF3,

Ontario vs Iowa/Indiana/Illinois/S.Minn... isn't even close in corn yield... the folks in Canada are near 1/3rd less... which is massive $$$! For them....Wheat @ $10/bu is still just a break crop!
