Rain does more Damage than Good.

Heavy rain at this time of year does nothing but damage to crops to all the grain buyers out their you know it but think it adds grain.
Lodged fields and twisted canola and flat flax and flat peas and lentils make harvest a shit show and also can down grade crops.
So sorry the real dry areas didn't get the rain they need for next year but the wet areas did not need this shit show at all.
    Rain makes mud not grain.
Flat lodged crops don't make harvest fun and enjoyable.
Time to get the tow ropes out again and put fats on for desiccating.
Shit happens but could of happened a month earlier.

Did a drive to medicine hat a couple days ago.Looks to me this is what was needed.crops too green to hurt.too thin to lodge.Parched grass will get a second life.Pea crops are the only thing that may get flattened in these areas and lose yield.Should be a very good year to be growing peas if you did not take an early contract.

I CAN imagine what a twisted mess some people will have from the torrential rain and heavy wind. Sad part is you don't need a sustained amount of either to make it happen. A few short minutes with a combination of both is enough to make a hell of a mess. What I find hard to believe and need to ask myself is why I continue to subject myself to the assault? When growing it isn't enough of a challenge, try to market it and "hope" to be treated fairly with grade and price. No wonder...

Good Luck SF3, I hope your good crops aren't too much of a mess to handle.

I am like farming101, I don't want to look at my short peas that were still standing when I desiccated them. Harvest would have been a dream compared to the diseased lodged shit of the last three years, albeit a reduced volume this year the fact they stood was like a silver lining to an otherwise poor yeild situation. Now that might be gone too.

One inch in the Biggar area as of 10:00pm last night, and not sure how much it rained all night. We are on the very western edge of the system. Not to Far East of Biggar it looks like heavy rain.

Not sure what happened over night. Had 7/10 @cando yesterday. Someone stole my rain guage in Saskatoon but it's been raining all night must be getting close to an inch now.

4/10 @ arelee. These systems seem to be pushing over / around the high ground.
