New polling shows a majority of Americans think Trump is using presidency to enrich himself, including a third of Republicans
A new Washington Post-ABC poll (https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/10/18/trump-approval-hits-record-low-handing-democrats-clear-midterm-edge/) shows that Donald Trump’s approval rating has reached a new low – 33%.
This comes, just over two weeks away from the November midterms, as the president continues crisscrossing the country as part of his campaign blitz for embattled Republicans
Notably, the new polling (https://www.washingtonpost.com/tablet/2026/10/15/oct-9-13-2026-washington-post-abc-news-ipsos-poll/) also shows that a majority (66%) of Americans believe Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself. Looking at that data even further – 34% of Republicans believe Trump is enriching himself. This is a 12-point jump from last September.
